If you follow the news, much you may wonder who is in charge. Some may say Republicans, some Obama; others suggest that it is the Democrats. However, they are wrong. We are in charge. Our government was set up so that a majority of the people could change it. The first three words of the Constitution read "We the people..." We-the -People created the government; We-the-People pay taxes to it; We-the-People elect its leaders; and We-the-People live in it. We-the-People are the government. All of this means that We-the-People must act as part of the government. Herein lays the danger: that those who serve, that is those in government, will take over and we will be the servants.
However, how do we act as part of the government? Well for starters, we must stay informed. If we do not stay informed we will be ruled and not rule. The man who you voted for in November may become your new master if you do not watch out. We must prevent that from happening by speaking up. Do not step down—you employ the people in the government. It is to your advantage that you make sure that they are good men.Secondly, we must speak out. If we raise a din of outcry, then those in government will take notice. They will be scared since we are threating their jobs. They will obey if there are enough of us yelling at them. Finally, we must vote for people who represent us. If we do this they will be less likely to threaten us again.
If you do not do this, what will happen will be disastrous. We cannot risk it. Therefore, we must fight. Use your voice, your pen, your blog, and your Facebook. Otherwise, suppression, slavery and darkness are all that can be expected.
