Tuscon, a Place to Remember

What happened to Gabrielle Giffords on Saturday was horrible. Kids fight among each other when they don't get their way. Adults should not do so. We as American people must act our age. Doubtless the things this man did in his free time and the music he listened to helped make him that way. However, his real problem was he didn't give life value. Life has the highest value. Now, lest I be misunderstood, I do not mean that we should not hunt but rather that we should hold the life of another human higher than even our own.
There is no justification for what this man did. Now, however, the only honorable thing we can do is to give this man a death sentence. He devalued life and by man his life now needs to be taken. How can we truly honor those who died when we let their murderer get a mere slap on the wrist? Nothing short of his life should be required for what he did.
Now there are a few things worthy of man’s life. Some of them are when a man gives his life for God, when he gives it for someone else, when he gives his life for his country, and when he gives his life for his rights and the rights of others. War is not a dishonorable thing, when the war is a just war. War was the act that brought our nation and our rights into existence. Therefore, fighting a war for your rights and your country is a good and admirable act.
But, in order to prevent Tuscon from happening again we must grow up. Moreover, one of the ways that we must grow up is by not playing the game of politics. It struck me as odd that when a shooting happened and the man was Muslim, the news media stated that we must not jump to conclusions. But when it's a supposed conservative we hear "Those crazy mad tea partiers! See what they did!" I would ask the media to stop jumping to conclusions and grow up. And I ask you not to let them continue their immaturity but to keep them in check.
